I started my career in photography back in 1984 with a Pentax K1000. At first it was mainly a hobby. The more I worked with my camera the more I began to see the capabilities it had. So I started reading books and watching videos about photography. Soon people were asking me to photograph weddings and little league teams. But my true love was nature and all of the beauty found there.
After several years of working with film I bought a digital camera to have with me on my construction sites. I still used the K1000 for any serious photography. When technology got much better I upgraded to an eight megapixel camera. The quality was good but not good enough for serious enlargements.
Then early in 2011 I made the jump to a digital SLR and started getting serious about making a career of fine art photography. I still have my trusty K1000 plus and extra body. But my digital SLR allows me to do the work with one camera that would have taken several film cameras all loaded with different films and lenses.
